building a community of interest and practice in service design
Some of you may know TACSI already. They're a NPO group based in Adelaide, Australia, who work with grass-roots communities to generate social change through a design-led approach.
Chris Vanstone is one of the leaders of their 'Radical Re-design Team' and comes with a pedigree, having worked in a leading public service reform design agencies - Participle - in the UK. TACSI has recently won the 2012 International Design Award in the Service Design category.
This workshop gave participants an introduction to TACSI's methods and an opportunity to discuss and dissect. Chris also reflected on the ethnographic insights gained looking into TACSI's current focus area of Ageing.
The workshop was hosted at RMIT University Melbourne, by DESIS Lab Melbourne and Service Design Network Melbourne.
