Did you want to give us enough time to get the book?

 

This maybe too short notice to read & buy the book. I believe it doesn't have a kindle version (so only hard cover)?

Fair comment Will,

I think maybe you joined the SD ning after I posted internal invites to join the group and read the book. Which was a really long time ago now... At the time there was maybe 3 to 5 of us in the group, so I was trying to get more people on board, but the few of us in the group at the time agreed to read TISSDT late in May with a meet up early July.

There's been lots of people join the group in the last week as lots more people joined the ning very recently and it will seem like too short notice for everyone else. 

It's hard to know what the right thing to do is, but I feel that we really need to kick it off, being the very first book meet up, and that it's been a really long time now. I'm keen to get the ball rolling, I just don't want to keep pushing it onwards for those that have already read it...

There will be lots more to come, and now things are warming up we can get some momentum...

How do others feel about that?

Maybe I can have the book delivered before the event.

don't go with fishpond - mine took ages to arrive! I think Yoko got hers quite quickly via amazon...

I think the mistake I made here was not committing to the meeting date earlier... I know better for next time! 

UX have a meeting every 2 months? That gives time for ordering and reading the book?

We have it every 2 months also because we're busy and outside that long to read something!!

I'll add the number one place to search for book titles is www.booko.com.au A friend of mine put this site together and it has a huge following now.

I just noticed that the Sudney UX Book Club is reviewing our book 'This is Service Design Thinking' http://uxbookclub-syd-august.eventbrite.com/?ref=ebtn

 

They normally post their discussion via the google group. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Wow! What a crazy coincidence that theirs on the same night! :)

I think it would be great if we posted up something from our discussion too - maybe if a couple of us posted up key thoughts or ideas afterwards... but let's see how we go I guess.

EDIT - okay i must be a bit tired, I then posted it was next week (post now deleted) - which obviously it is not

I've just sent a reminder for Tuesday 2 Aug. See you there :)
